Chapter One (2012–2016)
The Story of Honesty in Global Education
In 2012, Reknown Edu Services® was founded by Karan Jain in Bangalore on a simple premise: honesty in an industry built on confusion. We operated as a traditional consultancy with full-time counselors, trainers, and support staff.
Students were paying good money for bad advice elsewhere. Karan built a reputation for transparency, telling students the truth about their profiles and measuring success by offer letters.
From 2012 to 2016, Reknown Edu operated as this traditional consultancy, guiding over 2,000 students to global universities. That was Chapter One.
Chapter Two & Three (2016–Present)
The Transition to a Curated Network Model
In 2016, Pratik Jain took leadership. For four years, he operated within the traditional model, personally counseling his first 500 students — sitting in the same chairs, facing the same anxieties, learning what actually moves the needle.
By 2020, Pratik saw what the traditional model couldn't do. No single employee can be excellent at German language training AND visa interview prep AND complex financial affidavit structuring AND scholarship strategy.
The generalist model produces generalist results.
So Pratik dismantled the traditional model entirely. He moved away from full-time generalist employees toward a curated network of domain specialists.
Instead of a junior counselor handling 50 visa files, you get former consulate officers. Instead of a general language tutor, you get Santosh for German (8+ years, 400+ students). Instead of a standard SOP writer, you get published academics.
