This Privacy Policy is published by Reknown Edu Services® ("we", "our", "us"), an educational consultancy and test-preparation institute registered in Bangalore, India. We operate the website reknownedu.com and all related services.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), we are the Data Fiduciary — the entity that decides why and how your personal data is collected and used. You, as the visitor or student, are the Data Principal.
2. What Personal Data We Collect
We collect personal data only for specific, clearly stated purposes. Here is a complete list of everything we collect:
2a. Contact & Inquiry Data
When you fill our contact form, coaching inquiry, or any lead form, we collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone / WhatsApp number
- Your study abroad journey stage or area of interest
- Any message or query you type
Purpose: To respond to your inquiry and provide you with relevant service information.
2b. Course Registration & Enrollment Data
When you register for a coaching course, we collect:
- Full name, email, mobile number
- Full residential address and pincode
- Course selected and batch time preference
- Government-issued ID Proof (e.g., Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID)
- Address Proof document
- Recent passport-size photograph
Purpose: Identity verification, enrollment record-keeping, and compliance with institutional requirements. We collect ID documents only with your explicit consent and store them in an encrypted, access-controlled storage system.
2c. Payment & Transaction Data
When you make a purchase (eBook, mock test, coaching, consulting):
- Name, email, and phone associated with the transaction
- Purchase amount and transaction ID
- Product/service purchased
- Invoice records (stored securely in our systems)
Purpose: Payment processing, invoice generation, order fulfillment, and tax compliance. We do not store your card number, CVV, or banking credentials — these are handled directly by Razorpay (our payment processor).
2d. Free Tool Usage Data
When you use our free tools (Scholarship Calculator, Visa Risk Analyzer, Readiness Scorecard, etc.), we may collect:
- Your email address (to send you your personalized results)
- The inputs you enter into the tool (e.g., CGPA, financial figures, target country)
Purpose: To deliver your tool results and, with your consent, to follow up with relevant study abroad guidance.
2e. Website Analytics Data
When you visit our website and accept analytics cookies, we collect:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Scroll depth and interaction patterns
- Referring website or UTM campaign source
- Session ID (a randomly generated, non-personal identifier)
- Approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address
- IP address (collected via freeipapi.com, a third-party geolocation service)
Purpose: To understand how visitors use our website and improve our content and services. This data is only collected after you give consent via our cookie banner.
2f. Student Wall of Fame, Reviews, and Historical Testimonials
To build trust and showcase student success (e.g., admitting universities, scorecards, visa approvals), we display student stories and testimonials on our website. For past students who provided verbal consent or shared documents during historical offline counseling, we publish details in good faith. If you are a past student and wish to have your name, story, photo, or redacted documents removed from the site, you may request deletion at any time. Simply write to our Grievance Officer at info@reknownedu.com and we will take it down immediately.
2g. Your Responsibility for Data Accuracy
It is your responsibility to provide correct and current contact details — including your email address, phone number, and residential address — when registering or interacting with our services. Reknown Edu Services® will send all service updates, enrollment confirmations, invoices, and communications to the contact details provided by you. We are not liable for any missed communications, service delays, or missed opportunities arising from incorrect or outdated information you have submitted. 3. Third Parties We Share Data With
We share your data only with the following trusted service providers, and only to the extent necessary to provide our services:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.
4. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law:
- Contact / lead inquiries: 2 years from date of submission, after which personal identifiers are anonymised.
- Course enrollment records & ID documents: Duration of your enrollment + 3 years thereafter, in accordance with institutional and tax compliance requirements.
- Payment & invoice records: 7 years, as required by Indian tax law (Income Tax Act, GST Act).
- Analytics events: 12 months from the date of collection.
- Tool usage data: 6 months from submission, or until you request deletion.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use the following types of cookies and tracking technologies:
- Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function (e.g., cart, session state). These are always active and do not require consent.
- Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the site (page views, scroll depth, clicks). These are only activated after you accept via our cookie banner.
- Marketing / Third-Party Cookies: Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics cookies, activated only after your consent. These may track your activity across other websites.
You may change your cookie preferences at any time by using the "Manage Preferences" option or by clearing your browser's site data for reknownedu.com.
6. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act, 2023
As a Data Principal under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: You may request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is being used.
- Right to Correction: You may request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold.
- Right to Erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations we are required to fulfil.
- Right to Grievance Redressal: You may raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (details in Section 8). If unsatisfied, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.
- Right of Nominee: You may nominate a person to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

7. How We Protect Your Data
We implement the following measures to keep your data secure:
- All data is stored on Supabase, which uses AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit.
- Access to your personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only, on a need-to-know basis.
- Government-issued ID documents are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket and are never publicly accessible.
- Payment data (card numbers, CVV, UPI credentials) is never stored by us — all payment processing is handled exclusively by Razorpay.
- Our systems are regularly reviewed for security vulnerabilities.
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to affect your rights or interests, we will: (a) notify the Data Protection Board of India within the timeframes prescribed under the DPDP Act, 2023; (b) inform affected users promptly where required by law; and (c) take all reasonable technical and organizational steps to contain, investigate, and remedy the breach without undue delay.
