Your plan as an Indian applicant
- 1
Get your English score
You need at least IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 43 or PTE 43 (CEFR B1). For the winter intake (until 15 June), take the test at least 3 months earlier so a retake still fits. For the student visa from India, the German missions accept IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge (not older than 1 year) and do not recognise PTE, Duolingo or TOEFL home edition, so IELTS or TOEFL covers both steps.
- 2
Check your degree and grade
German universities convert your CGPA and check that your Bachelor's covers enough of the subject for Computer Science & IT. A 3-year Bachelor's is accepted by some programmes and not others.
- 3
Get your APS certificate (and check the dMAT)
Indian applicants need the APS certificate for the student visa, and uni-assist expects it with your application to Kiel University. A new admission test, the dMAT, is being introduced for some Indian applicants; check whether it applies to your degree and intake.
